About the role

As we continue to strengthen our internal operations, we are looking for a Senior Accountant & HR Officer to bring our accounting activities in-house. In this role, you will take ownership of the organization's full financial scope while also supporting HR and operational processes. You will ensure that our finance administration, reporting, payroll coordination and internal processes are structured, accurate and scalable.

You will work closely with management, external partners and internal teams to support Virto’s continued growth.

Core responsibilities

Accounting

• Manage the company’s accounting from A to Z, ensuring accurate and complete financial records.
• Handle the full accounting cycle (AP, AR, accruals, provisions, reconciliations).
• Coordinate the monthly and annual closing process with the CFO and external accountant.
• Ensure compliance with Belgian accounting and VAT regulations (including VAT and intra-community declarations).
• Oversee the billing cycle (invoicing, corrections, pricelists, payment follow-up).

Reporting & Controlling

• Prepare monthly financial reporting for management.
• Support decision-making through financial analysis and insights.
• Analyse variances between budget and actual results.
• Build and maintain financial dashboards and reports.

HR

• Prepare monthly payroll and coordinate with the social secretariat.
• Review payroll outputs and ensure correct processing of salary payments and benefits.
• Ensure administrative follow-up of all matters related to the payroll process (e.g. absences, leave, etc.).
• Manage fleet administration and related processes.

What are we looking for?

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• You have at least 5 years of experience in a similar financial role.
• You have strong knowledge of accounting (A–Z) and financial processes.
• You are structured, detail-oriented and reliable.
• You are comfortable working across Finance, HR and Operations.
• You have a strong knowledge of financial tools and Excel.
• You have a strong sense of ownership and a proactive mindset.
• You have excellent communication skills in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
• Experience in an international or scale-up environment is a plus.
