What does Virto Solar do?
We develop powerful solar software to design large-scale photovoltaic projects. Our products include :
- Virto.CAD : AutoCAD / BricsCAD plugin for EPC, engineering firms and developers of utility-scale ground-mounted and Commercial & Industrial rooftop installations.
- Virto.CORE : a customized calculator for mounting system manufacturers and wholesale.
- Virto.MAX: web application to maximize the solar design. Set to launch in January 2024.
Our pv software speeds up the design and engineering process: by automating repetitive and time-consuming tasks, we help you save time and cost and we decrease the risk of calculating errors.

Did you change your brand name?
Yes we did! We changed our name from "Virtuosolar" to "VIRTO".
This new name allows us to present ourselves as the most innovative and trusted solar design software company and splits our CAD, Web and Framework software into the sub-brands Virto.CAD, Virto.MAX and Virto.CORE respectively. Read more about us here.

Do you provide trainings?
Yes, we do!
We provide Virto.CAD trainings for either new clients who want to get started with our pv software; or for existings clients who want an update on the latest changes and newest features.
We offer both online and in company trainings (3+ people).

Virto.CAD
What's the price?
There are 3 license options for Virto.CAD :
- Single Workstation License: 1 user + 1 PC. This license allows you to install our software on 1 PC and can be used by 1 person.
- Dual Activation License: 1 user + 2 PC's. This license allows you to install our software on 2 PC's and can be used by 1 person simultaneously. It is possible to create a "Custom Pool" and combine a two or more licenses.
- Enterprise Tailored: customized.
Can I have a demo?
Yes, you can book a free Virto.CAD demo. This demo takes about 90 minutes and gives you a detailed overview of the features.
Can I get a free trial?
Yes - you can request a free 14 day trial and try our Virto.CAD PV plugin for AutoCAD and BricsCAD. Please submit your request here.
How do I start my free trial?
After you have submitted your request for a free trial, you will receive an email with the download and installation instructions.
How many days is the free trial?
The free Virto.CAD trial is valid for 14 days after activation.
I have issues with my free trial. What can I do?
- Please check first that you have entered the same email address you used for your free trial registration. You can only activate a free trial that is linked a valid registration request.
- You can only have one free trial. In case you have had a free trial with us before, it will not be possible to request or activate a new trial.
If you need additional time to try Virto.CAD, please contact our sales team via sales@virto.solar and we'll try to find a solution for you.
What are the system requirements of my PC?
You'll need specific system requirements to be able to use Virto.CAD :
- Graphics hardware requirements for AutoCAD
- System Requirements for AutoCAD
- System Requirements for BricsCAD

Do I need any prior 3D knowledge?
No, Virto.CAD is designed in such a way there's no need to go back to studying or hire someone else to step in to do your 3D modeling.
Our PV plugin for AutoCAD / BricsCAD includes easy 3D modeling options.

Can I use an onboard graphics card?
No, it's not possible to use an onboard graphics card since this will not garantuee a good performance.
An integrated onboard graphics card is a card that does not have its own CPU, but rather is using your system's RAM and system CPU to get the visuals out that you require.

Do I need any prior software installations?
You do not need any other software or programs to run our web application Virto.CORE.
If you want to work with our Virto.CAD plugin, you'll need AutoCAD or BricsCAD.
Do you sell any CAD programs?
How can I create 3D terrains or imagery?
By using our partner plugin Plex-Earth, you can easily create 3D terrains and imagery. Find pricing and features here or contact us for more information or assistance.
You can also use any other similar software that can generate 3D meshes as dwg / dxf.
Moreover, TIN surfaces generated in AutoCAD Civil 3D or BricsCAD Pro are also accepted by our software.
Does your software also calculate solar energy yield?
No, Virto.CAD does not simulate solar energy yield.
We provide an export to PVsyst to simulate the solar energy yield via PV collada (.pvc format).
Since PVsyst is still one of the most accurate yield simulations, we feel very confident leaning on their software.
Which AutoCAD/BricsCAD version can I use?
Virto.CAD only supports BricsCAD V24 and AutoCAD versions after 2020.

When will you release Virto.MAX?
Virto.MAX has been released in March 2024. Click here to start your free trial.

Currently we do not yet offer Virto.MAX product demonstration.
