Yes, you can import .dwg files.

Moreover, Virto.MAX and Virto.CAD are connected, allowing you to re-use existing files. How it’s done:

  1. Export your project as a .dwg file in Virto.MAX
  2. Open Virto.CAD – open your Virto.MAX .dwg file
  3. Continue in Virto.CAD

Additionally, you can also use conceptual 2D CAD designs and rebuild those into Virto.CAD projects.
